Happening on 3-13 June 2011 at the spectacular Coolangatta / Tweed Heads districts, Cooly Rocks On is a unique event that will feature an awesome nostalgia car festival set and excellent musical performances from some of the most distinguished rockabilly, swing music and rock 'n' roll musicians that will surely keep you boogieing from sun up to sun down.
Guests at our Palm Beach Gold Coast apartments will definitely delight at the all the programs and activities lined up on this year's Cooly Rocks On. Families will surely feel the lively atmosphere as they eagerly watch the colourful parade of cars, boats and floats on the streets. You may also catch a glimpse of celebrities on their stunning rides as they take part on the parade festivities.
The Cooly Rocks On will proudly feature over 50 rock 'n' roll bands and musicians that will definitely get you tapping your toes and grooving to their lively beats. Expect to see amazing performances from Dirty Boogie Band, The Rockafellaz, Flattrakkers, The Velvet Set, Flying Saucers, West Texas Crude, Dean Vegas, Round Mountain Girls, Deejay Jimmy Dee, and The Headliners.
There will also be exciting competitions and workshops at the Festival. Guests at our beachfront apartments in Palm Beach can learn boogie and different array of dances at the dance workshops. Moreover, you can also show off your winning steps as you swing your hips towards the dance showdown at the World Freestyle Rock 'N' Roll & Swing Championship. Apart from the competitive dancing, Cooly Rocks On will also host the 17th annual Queensland Old Mal Championships wherein contestants will be riding the waves with the original Australian pre-1968 surfboards that are over 9 foot long.
Aside from exciting contests, colourful street parades and brilliant rock 'n' roll shows, the event will also display over 800 hottest classic cars and hot rods in the region and will be closing down the streets during the Show 'n' Shine. You may also witness the award presentation for the best vintage cars showcased at Show 'n' Shine.
