Next time you visit Gold Coast, try watching something different like “play reading”. Think of it as an audio book. You listen to it and bring life to every word using your imagination. The only difference is you can see the reader delivering every word which you will give life.

Interested? Head over to The Space at the Arts Centre Gold Coast and experience the power of imagination.

Performing this February are three outstanding playwrights:

•    Bradley McCaw – The Game

Having recently performed his cabaret titled Lucky Country, this award-winning performer who is also an actor, a playwright, and a singer/songwriter returns to the stage. But this time he will be giving a play reading titled, The Game.

The story follows two bored siblings who were just playing a video game. The next thing they knew; they were sucked inside a fantasy world. The Game is one ridiculous but funny piece perfect for the whole family.

Catch Bradley McCaw’s The Game on February 6th at 2pm.

•    RK Musgrave – The Turn of Winston Haggle

Writing for various mediums such as film, print, radio, theatre, and TV, RK Musgrave consistently plays with themes of death, guilt, and loss with a sense of dark humour and irony. ‘The Turn of Winston Haggle’, his one-act play is no exception.

If you like dark humour, then go see the final reading of RK Musgrave’s play on February 13th at 2pm. And if you want to see more of his works, RK Musgrave is currently on three projects – a TV series, debut novel, and a horror feature – “Who’s There?”

•    Stewart McMillan – Allen

This Gold Coast playwright is no stranger to the Arts Centre Gold Coast. Stewart McMillan has already staged two black comedies such as Beautifully Dead and Un Natural Selection. On February 21st, he will be back to stage Allen, a play about a psychiatrist seeing his psychiatrist.

If you are interested in black comedy, then this one is definitely for you. Be at The Space before the reading commences at 2pm.
