Beach Rugby Australia brings Beach 5s Rugby to Greenmount Beach this October for an action-packed weekend of non-stop five-a-side.
Ever watched beach rugby before? If you haven’t, it’s a fast-paced twist on standard rugby rules, which sees teams of five go head-to-head on the sand. This tourney will pull in the best beach rugby teams in Australia, and it’s free to spectate.

2. Groundwater Country Music Festival
This is the big one that seriously shouldn’t be missed. Groundwater Country Music Festival, one of the country’s largest non-ticket music festivals, is returning to Broadbeach with a brand new jaw-dropping lineup.
Love country music? Or just looking for the perfect excuse to head to the beach? Make sure to be in Broadbeach, as Groundwater is delivering three days of free live music and good vibes.

3. Coolangatta Gold
The iconic Coolangatta Gold – another event you can spectate for free this spring!
Head to Coolangatta Beach for this two-day spectacle that will see Australia’s most hardy triathletes take on 42km of skiing, running, swimming and paddling. It comes with a fantastic beach atmosphere and lots of action to take in.
Get ready for the 2021 Coolangatta Gold on November 13 and November 14.
4. Whale Watching
Did you know that it’s currently whale watching season on the Gold Coast?
That’s right – now’s the time to head over to the Gold Coast if you’re yet to witness the migrating humpbacks during spring. You can book a whale watching to get up close or visit one of the Gold Coast whale watching vantage points to catch a glimpse of the whales for free.
